The HBS Admissions Process

The HBS admissions process begins with the submission of an online application. The application requires you to submit a variety of materials, including your transcripts, test scores, resume, and essays. You will also need to submit two letters of recommendation.

Once you have submitted your application, it will be reviewed by the HBS Admissions Committee. The committee will evaluate your application materials and decide whether to invite you for an interview.

If you are invited for an interview, you will travel to the HBS campus in Boston, Massachusetts. The interview will be conducted by a member of the Admissions Committee and will last for approximately 30 minutes.

After your interview, the Admissions Committee will make a decision on your application. You will be notified of the decision via email.

The HBS Application Requirements

The following are the application requirements for the HBS MBA program:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • A minimum of three years of full-time work experience
  • A GMAT or GRE score
  • A TOEFL or IELTS score (for non-native English speakers)
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A resume
  • Essays

The application deadlines for the HBS MBA program are as follows:

  • Round 1: September 7, 2022
  • Round 2: January 5, 2023
  • Round 3: April 11, 2023

The HBS Admissions Committee

The HBS Admissions Committee is composed of a group of faculty members, administrators, and alumni. The committee is responsible for evaluating applications and making admissions decisions.

The Admissions Committee looks for a variety of qualities in its applicants, including:

  • Intellectual ability
  • Leadership potential
  • Communication skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Cultural diversity

The Admissions Committee also considers the applicant's work experience, extracurricular activities, and personal qualities.

How to Increase Your Chances of Admission

There is no guarantee of admission to HBS, but there are a number of things you can do to increase your chances.

  • Get a strong GMAT or GRE score.
  • Write a compelling application essay.
  • Get strong letters of recommendation.
  • Demonstrate leadership potential.
  • Be involved in extracurricular activities.
  • Be yourself.

The HBS admissions process is competitive, but it is also fair. If you have what it takes to be a successful HBS student, you have a good chance of being admitted.

The HBS MBA program is a life-changing experience. If you are thinking about applying, I encourage you to do your research and prepare yourself for the admissions process. With hard work and dedication, you can increase your chances of admission and achieve your dream of becoming a HBS student.
